Brush Pile

Brush Pile in south field

Dan Nissen

Recent visitors to Ivy Creek will have noticed a significant change to the landscape.  The fields near the parking area and barn have had their annual mowing by the County.    These fields are mowed regularly so that we can keep them as the valuable habitat they are.  Two of our industrious volunteers took advantage of the freshly mown field by the barn and created a brush pile.  Brush piles are incredibly valuable to wildlife including skinks, rabbits, birds, butterflies, snakes and others.  This brush pile will hopefully offer some shelter for sparrows who often seek food in the fields.
