Barn Docent Training

Learn how to be a docent at Ivy Creek's historic dairy barn! Open on weekend mornings in spring, summer, and fall, this 90-year-old barn is dependent on our trained volunteers. Barn docents welcome Ivy Creek's visitors by sharing both our site's agricultural history and environmental present.

This training will introduce you to the history of River View Farm, walk you through our interactive exhibits on the flora and fauna of Ivy Creek, and even teach you how to milk Tilly, our model cow! All volunteers must have completed a training before volunteering as a docent.
