Family Program: Using a Map and a Compass

This program is designed for children approximately 10 years old or older (including parents!).  We will learn to use a compass to determine the four cardinal directions, N, S, E, and W, and will take a look at a couple of maps to discover how maps are designed and what they have in common.  After this introduction, we will hike around the north field observing how shadows and the sun can also indicate the cardinal directions.
