Barn and Farm History Hours: Sunday

Come inside the barn at Ivy Creek Natural Area. This was formerly the showpiece of the working farm known as River View Farm. It is also a local Virginia African American Heritage Trail site. Enjoy the displays including an observing beehive and farm equipment. Open weekend afternoons until Thanksgiving. Additionally, there are historical displays about the Carr/Greer family who lived here for over one hundred years.

Volunteer Work Day - Saturday

Join volunteers to work on field restoration, invasive plant removal, or various trail improvements such as water bar repairs and trail widening. Wear outdoor work clothes and close-toed shoes/boots. Meet in the parking lot.

Tree Basics for Homeowners: Spring Invasives Identification and Control

Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards (CATS) will be holding a class on invasive plants: identification and control. It will be held Saturday, May 26, from 10:00 am to 12 noon.  The class will begin in the Education Building and then take participants outside on the ICNA trails.  Please dress appropriately.  Registration with CATS is requested/recommended--please RSVP by e-mailing  education@charlottesvilleareatreestewards.org.
