Wednesday, April 12, 2017 | 7:30pm - 9:30pm
Please join Walter Hussey who will present “Pleasant Grove Park: A Natural Experience”.
Pleasant Grove is a new 800+ acre park in Fluvanna County. Walter’s talk will describe work he and others have been doing to encourage nature education, develop native plant wildflower meadows, establish a butterfly garden, and plant native trees. The work at Pleasant Grove has won a number of awards such as 2015 Hometown Hero, 2015 VA Association of Counties Environment Award, and Governor's Award for Virginia's Volunteer of the Year for 2016.
The Jefferson Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society meets at the Education Building on the second Wednesdays of the month at 7:30 pm. These meetings are free and open to the public. After chapter business, there is a presentation on a topic of chapter interest.
