Maximum Solar Eclipse Viewing Event
Amateur astronomers will converge on the Ivy Creek Natural Area south field to observe the partial solar eclipse on April 8. The maximum of the eclipse is around 3PM, with astronomers present from 2 to 4PM. At maximum eclipse, only about 10% of the sun will remain uncovered! A limited quantity of solar eclipse glasses are available/provided, but if you have any, bring your own. Astronomers will also bring telescopes that are properly solar filtered. Event cancels if overcast/cloudy.
