Ornithology Classes

For birdwatching enthusiasts from novice to expert, learn how to identify the birds of Central Virginia by sight and song in the field on Saturday morning field trips by taking this class at PVCC. Dan Bieker teaches NAS 160 starting Saturday, February 20th. For more information about this course, call Dan at 971-9618. Welcome to the Ivy Creek Foundation
The Ivy Creek Foundation in Charlottesville, Virginia is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve and manage the Ivy Creek and Ragged Mountain Natural Areas for environmental education and appreciation.
The Ivy Creek Foundation:
- Preserves and manages the Ivy Creek and Ragged Mountain Natural Areas (over 1,000 acres) for community education and appreciation.
- Gives nature tours to over 2,500 people a year.
- Offers a year round schedule of public programs free to the public and enjoyed by over 1,200 people last year.
The operating budget of the Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is supported primarily by annual tax-deductible contributions through membership participation. The Foundation has two part-time staff and an 11 member Board of Directors.
The Foundation launched its second Annual Fund Drive in October 2009. We hope to raise additional monies in the coming year to support new environmental education and history programming for local area schools. Throughout the year we will seek support for our exciting new education initiatives by expanding and engaging our membership and through a series of fundraising events. First Saturday Bird Walk

Come join members of the Monticello Bird Club for an early morning bird walk led by Jim Nix. Beginners are always welcome. Rain, snow, or sleet. Meet in the parking lot.
