Welcome to the Ivy Creek Foundation

The Ivy Creek Foundation in Charlottesville, Virginia is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve and manage the Ivy Creek and Ragged Mountain Natural Areas for community education and appreciation.

The Ivy Creek Foundation:

• Preserves and manages the Ivy Creek and Ragged Mountain Natural Areas (over 1,000 acres) for community education and appreciation.
• Gives nature tours to over 2,500 people a year.
• Offers a year round schedule of public programs free to the public and enjoyed by over 1,200 people last year.

The operating budget of the Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is supported primarily by annual tax-deductible contributions through membership participation. The Foundation has two part-time staff and a 17 member Board of Directors.

The Foundation launched its first Annual Fund Drive in October 2008. We hope to raise an additional $50,000 in the coming year to support new environmental education and history programming for local area schools. Throughout the year we will seek support for our exciting new education initiatives by expanding and engaging our membership and through a series of fundraising events.
