Newspaper creates electronic slideshow of Ivy Creek

Summer Wildflower Walk with Phil Stokes
On August 30th, 2008, Phil Stokes of the Virginia Native Plant Society led a small group around the Filed Trail and beyond to see the spectacular late blooming wildflowers of summer. Cardinal flower, boneset, and jewelweed are among the flowers that bloom in August at Ivy Creek. Both Ivy Creek Foundation staff joined Phil in this walk, and the conversations that transpired generated some creative thinking on dealing with invasives. It really was a magical morning. One of the participants, Tony Russell, took some amazing photographs that he is pleased to share below. We would love to see your photographs as well!
